About Us
The garden is increasingly an extension of our homes – somewhere we go to relax, to be at one with nature or even perhaps to work or play. If anyone understands the importance of a well-designed external area it’s PALS – the Planning and Landscape Specialists.
Set up by local Peter Longbottom – whose initials are PAL, coincidentally – PALS has 18 years’ experience of creating beautifully planned landscape designs in Bramhall and throughout South Manchester and Cheshire. Peter works with a small team of staff to provide a full design and build service for residential customers and the occasional commercial client.
Offering their services 6 days of the week, PALS covers all aspects of planning and landscaping, including drawing up plans, submitting designs to local authorities and subsequently constructing custom patios, block paving, natural stonework, decking, stone fountains, ponds and more, as well as planting schemes, drainage, fencing and turfing.
With a background in art and design, Peter decided to combine his creative flair with his love of the outdoors by building his skills in landscaping, gaining attention from the likes of Cheshire County Council for the standard of his work. He created a water feature for the council that was displayed at the RHS show held in Tatton Park and subsequently won an award for the project.
Applying the skills he learned through studying an HND and past experience with a landscaping company in the USA, Peter went on to set up his own business in Bramhall. Now based in Macclesfield but still well-known within the village, Pete has previously been president of the Bramhall BNI chapter ‘Pyramid’ based at Bramhall golf club.
Pete is a Co founder and currently a trustee of a Charity called Mentell that was founded within Bramhall but has now grown to a National Charity and served over 4000 men. To learn more about Mentell and our work, please visit our website at www.mentell.org.uk.
What sets PALS apart – and has ensured the continued success of the company for two decades – is the level of undivided attention clients receive. Peter puts customer service at the heart of the business, only taking on one job at a time and being on site in person to lead each project.
By working one job at a time, PALS is able to give each customer the attention their project deserves. Standards are kept high and the chance of a problem arising is reduced. Meanwhile, being visible and approachable ensures that Peter can deal with clients directly and attend to any questions they may have.
